Practical Informations
Iserand is situated at 5 km away from the mouth of the Doux, a branch of the Rhône which name means soft, as the climate of the ‘Ardèche Verte’, and which explains this name.
The ‘Green Ardèche’ enjoys a Mediterranean climate, cooled by an oceanic influence coming from Auvergne. The climatic protection brought by Vercors (pre-Alps) on east-side and Massif Central on west-side, allows the flourishing of the great wine terroir “Côtes du Rhône”. Iserand campsite is placed in the middle of a famous part of it called “Saint-Joseph AOC“.
It is 300 m away from the Rhône, which pools are awarded “Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Ecologique pour la Faune & la Flore” (Natural Zone for Ecologic and Wild Life Interest).
This grandiose scenery is crossed by the “ViaRhona” cycle route, of which an access can be found at 100 m from the campsite ! This bucolic itinerary reserved for pedestrians and cyclists roams along the Rhône Valley and links the Lake of Geneva to Camargue.
